What is the Family Connections Program?
The Family Connections Program is a framework to build relationships between all the important people in a child experiencing foster care's life.
Elements of the program include:
-
Connections Conversations - a voluntary opportunity for parents and caregivers to meet and talk about the needs of a foster child. Conversations are co-facilitated by the Connections Team (composed of a Caregiver Mentor and Parent Ally) and are focused on the child's needs, strengths and interests. Our goal is for conversations feel positive and supportive for everyone involved.
-
Peer mentor support - participants are matched to a peer mentor with lived experience specially trained to support participants as they navigate and build relationships
